Photo Too Large? How to Fix It
Quick ways to reduce file size before uploading.
Heirlogics accepts photos up to 10MB each. If your photos are too large, use the steps below to reduce file size.
For iPhone Users
Enable High Efficiency Format:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap Camera.
- Tap Formats.
- Select High Efficiency (HEIC format).
This reduces file sizes while maintaining quality for all future photos.
Resize Existing Photos:
- Open the photo in the Photos app.
- Tap the Share button (box with arrow).
- Scroll down and tap Duplicate.
- Select Duplicate and Resize.
For Samsung/Android Users
Reduce Camera Resolution:
- Open your Camera app.
- Tap the Settings icon (gear icon).
- Find Picture size or Resolution.
- Select a lower resolution like 12MP or 8MP instead of the maximum.
This applies to all future photos taken with your camera.
Resize Existing Photos:
- Open the photo in Gallery or Google Photos.
- Tap the three dots menu.
- Look for Resize, Compress, or Save a copy.
- Select a smaller size or lower quality option.
Additional Tips
- •Most modern phones take photos that are larger than necessary for inventory purposes.
- •You can use free image compression apps or websites before uploading if you prefer not to change camera settings.
- •HEIC format typically produces much smaller files than JPEG while maintaining quality.
